I just finished this quilt top. It's for my friend who loves Batman (obviously). The original idea was to make it look like a film strip. I'm happy the black calmed the quilt down. When I laid out the squares next to each other, it was painfully busy, but I trusted that I knew what I was doing and am really happy with the results! Attachments:

OMG that's fantastic. Where did you find the fabric?

That was a fabric.com purchase about 1.5 years ago. They put out different superhero lines every so often, so you just check every few weeks/once per month when you have a project in mind. I have spiderman fabric running around here somewhere too. And Avengers

I LOVE it!!
I love buying up all the superhero fabric when it goes on clearance. I have this fantastic Girl power fabric with all of the female dc characters on it.

I think I especially love how you laid it out to look like a film strip. The black really does calm it down and it looks really really good.

Thank you everyone. I was really worried since it was crazy busy when I laid out the squares it was awfully busy (see picture) and I was worried the black wouldn't be enough to calm it down. My last Batman quilt had to be revised since it was too busy so I had an overdramatic "I'm cursed" moment
