It seems like the chatboard has been quiet lately. So I just wanted to say hi and see what everyone's been doing (crafting or otherwise). I am working on a Tetris quilt with 800 HSTs and spent last night cutting them apart. Next is pressing them and trimming them and then moving to an old folks home In life, my friends are getting married in San Diego in 2 weeks (I'm performing the ceremony) so I've been planning with them and just getting super excited for that!

I finally reminded myself to stop in here - I have to add the forum to my list of regular internet haunts. My current project is "Where There Are Bees", a cross stitch pattern from The Prairie Schooler. I've been WIPing it on my blog irregularly. My last post was an update, and I'll be putting another one up tonight.

I'm working on making new original designs at the moment, got an angler fish pendant coming up this week with my standard re-stock. =3
And I might be re-addicted to Borderlands 2. Possibly. It's totally not running right now. Honest. >_>

I've mostly been busy with real life crap. Deadlines for last week, off to competitions, organising and getting ready for new jobs (TA and Tutor in college).
I've also been doing a lot of sight-seeing lately. A friend is moving back to the States in 2 weeks so she and I have been running around Dublin and the surrounding areas going on tours and things. Its been a lot of fun, but not really conducive to crafting.
My Guardian cross stitch is still progressing, and is probably the only thing that really is. I tried to get Korra finished, but it just didn't happen. I'm trying again now, but the leather stitching is going much slower than I had hoped for as a bunch of it can only be done by hand.
I'm between projects quilting-wise and am in the process of collecting fabrics for my next baby quilt. I'm also trying to figure out what to do pattern wise for it and may post something elsewhere looking for ideas.
BUT I did manage to wrangle myself a day in London just to go fabric shopping next week which I am incredibly excited about!

I've been going crafting crazy and not necessarily in a good way.
I finished a commission shawl on the weekend, blocked it yesterday and have to weave in the ends tonight. I am so happy for this thing to be done.
Otherwise, I've been working on creating things for the con that I'm going to with Toni and Marc next month. I created my "want to make" list and I think Toni may have laughed. I'm not entirely sure it's even possible for me to get done everything I want to do, even without sleep. So that's where I'm at!

What type of competitions? Congrats on the new jobs! Sight seeing sounds fun. I find it interesting to be a tourist in your own area - see things in a new light. Fun! Pictures of the fabric you get!

What con? I need to start attending more cons. And you don't need sleep... it's so overrated. Good luck making everything

I am making quilted bags and working on some commissions. I should be able to pin both quilts this Friday and then get some pillows done for Awesome Con in Indianapolis.
One of these days I will make a list of conventions that Craft Hacker members are attending.

Figure skating competitions, actually. Strange I know. I've been a judge for nearly 8 years now. And yeah, tourist in your own town is all kinds of interesting. Plus the friend I'm seeing it with is picking new and interesting places I've never been to since she's saving all the 'regular' sightseeing stuff for when her dad comes over. Its meant I've seen more new places in (and out of) Dublin in the past 2 weeks than I think I have in the past 14 years I've been living here lol. And sure- will get the pics up when I get back!

Oh cool. How did you get into figure skating and judging? That sounds really fun with your friend. I lived in Tucson, AZ for 26 years and there were so many things I didn't do. I had my list of things to do and places to go and tended to stick with them.

It kinda happened by accident when I started and did so casually for a while, and then I fell off a precipice of doom when someone gave me a slight shove and now its basically my second job. I really do enjoy it though.
