I know this isn't quite the definition of "long term project" that Toni meant, but my long term project for 2015 is to figure out how to grow and expand my blog, so to me, it fits (though feel free to move it!)
Some background: I've been quilting for about 10 years (wow... flying time). I design most of my patterns and over the last few years have started to make some to market. I sold some through my local quilt shop (who sadly went out of business earlier this year). Currently, I'm selling my patterns on Etsy. I started my blog a few months ago. I'm working through a lot of fear - I'm afraid that people will hate my patterns or I'll get nasty blog comments or I have nothing important to say or no one will care, which is why it took me so long to start my blog and I'm doing fairly well at managing those fears. What's important to me to share what I love and adequately represent myself.
For the last few months, I've been working on consistently posting on my blog, getting in the habit of taking pictures and posting them, and getting more comfortable talking (since the first few posts were like "here are pictures! The end!"). Now I'd like to start exposing my blog more. I'm curious what your thoughts are for how to do that. My friend suggesting posting the Tetris quilt on Reddit. Or I've thought about Imgur or DeviantArt. I'd like to get the pictures out there more and then link back to my blog (I think that makes the most sense...?). I also am not the biggest fan of Facebook for promoting myself (just some personal stuff with it) so I'd rather not use Facebook. But I'm open to other ideas.
So... any thoughts/directions/opinions/experience are appreciated.
