So. I have been talking about it in the member forums but haven't here yet for the non members and I want a little advice. This is my spreadsheet of the conventions I am doing in 2015. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vv1kYAAiGHIdGW9AqM8GUhfbsJQ9H8T73BnEwb7HdrI/edit?usp=sharing. I got an email yesterday morning from the people that run c2e2 and New York Comic Con. c2e2 only allows paper/pencil artists in their artist alley and New York is CRAZY to try to get into. So I decided to maybe get vendor booths instead. It would also allow me to focus a little more on the Craft Hacker side of it to advertise for more members. I think I definitely want to do New York. The problem I may have with c2e2 is I may have to do it by myself. Do I want to go to Chicago and man a booth possibly alone? But it's c2e2! Ahhhh.

That's a hard one. Have you been to the conventions before? If so, is it worth going back financially if you did similar business this year?
Personally, I don't go to cons on my own because I find them dreadfully boring usually. I sat at a friend's table with her this year at a comic con, and while both of us were there is was grand, but I got dreadfully bored when she had to go do things elsewhere and I stayed. I can only imagine when you're stuck all weekend that it might be worse. Plus you're dependent on friendly con staff who may forget about you if you need things like toilet breaks. It *could* be fine...

I am going to promote Craft Hackers, not necessarily my quilts and pillows. I will bring them with me, but it will be Craft Hackers for the most part.

The other thing to consider is that it might be nice to have time off. I travel a lot these days for my judging, and having a free month where I don't have to go anywhere is bliss. I know it might be different for you, but its a consideration. If it was me, I wouldn't hit the April one just so I could have the time to have a life without travel for a little bit.
Also, is your C2E2 application date correct? Its after the con date, or are you talking about for 2016?

The application date is the first time applications are open. So they opened up last year. I just talked to the guy and he sold me on it.
So I am officially going to C2E2 in April. He also hooked me up with the New York Comic Con!!

Thank you very much for posting all of these! I will be joining Toni and the CH table for MAGfest, CapriCon, and C2E2 this year - woot! I used to do 2-3 craft shows a year when I was making beaded jewelry on a regular basis so I totally understand the boredom factor. I did, however, bring with items to work on while displaying which not only helped with possible at show commissions but also showed on-lookers how I actually create items. For these, I will more than likely have some x-stitch mini-projects to work on and do the same (as long as the boss says it is ok). Can't wait! Tis the year of COOOOOOOOOOOOONS! (Yeah, I went there.)
