Hi all!
Lots of people have them, most abandon them before the year is over. I have quite a few goals that I would like to reach by the end of the year:
1. Be more active on the crafty forums I am a part of 2. Re-learn how to use a sewing machine 3. Create cosplay using newly acquired sewing machine skills 4. Learn to crochet granny squares 5. Make geeky granny square blanket 6. Complete leftover cross stitch projects 7. Make cross stitch, felt and perler ornaments for 2015 geeky xmas tree 8. Compete in a sanctioned MtG tournament 9. Play a long-term tabletop RPG 10. Attend or work more than 2 conventions (well on my way to that) 11. Become more familiar with my new stitching software (got PCStitch 10 for Xmas) and make patterns 12. Decide on "flavor" of blog and start blogging (I've had it in my head for a while to start a beer blog or just a personal one, not sure if I want to combine them or not) 13. Become healthier by planning out meals, finding the right workout routine, and taking time to meditate 14. Renew relationships that have fallen by the wayside
So in light of #1, expect to find me posting more things!
Do you have any goals you want to complete by year end? What are they?

I can help you with #2. Bring it to Capricon.

Mine are "do before I turn 30" things, which is Oct 2015, so it's similar to a New Years resolution... ish... 1) I want to leave the country (Canada and Mexico don't count) - I'm going to Vietnam, Thailand, and Laos in March, and 2) do something crazy - jump out of a plane, bungee jump, etc.

Wow, all of those sound awesome. Mine are:
1) be better at blogging 2) get more cosplays done, quicker 3) timetable my life better 4) re-lose the 10-15lbs I gained last year 5) get three chapters of my PhD finished 6) learn more about photography

I have very resolutely not made resolutions this year. There just isn't any point for me. Life happens.
However, I have some wishes. I know it's basically the same thing, just a different word, but it causes less stress when I fail to meet them!
I would like to take a bit more time to work on my own things this year instead of the commissions and cons. That's why I decided not to go to Forest City Comicon again. While everyone one else is working towards making more stuff, selling more stuff, and attending more cons, I'm taking the step back. In that stream, I want to learn to make fingerless mitts and a sweater. There's also a cross-stitch I've been sitting on for a decade that I wouldn't mind taking out again. This is all hilarious to me though because I have enough projects/commissions to take me to March already and I haven't even agreed to anything new this year. I would also like to plan for the holidays better this year. So in terms of stocking the store that carries my stuff, I would like to make one or two items a month starting now so that when October comes, I already have a stack to give them and I'm not going crazy rushing around at the end of the year.

I am in the same boat as Yurtle, I didn't make any new years resolutions because I always find I just break them. Instead I am dedicating myself the entire year to make sure Craft hackers is successful.

I'm giggling. I make that same pledge every January (to me, it's a pledge rather than a resolution or wish) and every damn year, come October, I'm like "OMG!! It's almost Christmas" and craziness ensues. It might be kinda cool to do something on here. A "get your Christmas presents done without rushing" thread or support group or something. It seems like from March - July/August, Christmas gifts are so far from my mind (and January/February, I'm recovering from my fall rush), so maybe if we had something to be like "hey, don't forget", that might help...?

That's a great idea Lexxi. I've got crafting for presents plans too, and I always wait too long to start and have to resort to buying pressies. A push earlier in the year might help.

As I was working on the Christmas gifts/inventory thread, I ended up with 2015 goals (I don't like the word "resolution").
2015 Goals: 1. Get all of the quilts in that one pile finished and out the door 2. Quilt tops to start/finish: 10 Shades of Grey, Wizard of Oz, Quick Curve Ruler quilt, Star Gazing BOM 3. (Start and) finish S&R and J&R’s wedding quilts 4. Make 5 scarves. List them and the other ~5 that are done on Etsy 5. Get 4 new Twister patterns complete and on Etsy 6. Redo the existing 4 7. Make (ambiguous number) of Christmas ornaments. I bought a bunch of supplies for 2014 and have a lot of leftovers 8. Track down the rest of my Wizard of Oz fabric and get it listed on Etsy if it’s in WA (it might be living at my mom’s house in AZ) 9. Mail box of scraps to my friend (right now, they’re piled under my dining room table… I clearly don’t have pets) 10. This is more vague – I have 4 boxes of UFOs/random stuff (not counting the giant box of material). Since last year, my goal has been to get through some of the boxes… goal is to continue working through them… maybe get rid of 2 boxes this year…
11. Book a 2016 trip – current front runners are Italy or Iceland (I’m doing Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam this year) 12. Go to a Seahawks (football) game
