Hi all...sorry I have been extremely inactive on here! Between the [very] full time job as a social worker and working my ass off to get my Etsy shop reopened, I have not had time to help myself by getting on here!
At any rate, my question is this: should I be working on diversifying my products, ie: having products for a wider range of people, or should I be focusing on increasing the amount of products/patterns I have for the four products I currently have?
I just did a craft show and it didn't go well. One issue could be that it was outside last weekend during the super crappy weather from the almost hurricane and the turnout was extremely sub-par. But, I still didn't get much traffic, and the traffic I did get I heard a lot of "oh but I don't have a baby or know anyone with a baby!". My products are very specific to the under 2 years old crowd (changing pads, sleep sacks, bibs, and cloth diapers). The issue is this: diversifying now would mean figuring out what product(s) would still align with my shop but increase the population that would be interested. That means more patterns, trials, testing, troubleshooting, materials, etc. However I'm worried that not doing it will decrease sales overall.
Or maybe I should stick with my four items but not do craft shows? I feel like it's easy to get missed on Etsy, so I was hoping to do craft shows to get my name out there, network, etc, but I'm not sure that four very age-specific items are craft show worthy...?
Any and all help is so appreciated!!!
