Oh how fun! I find it funny I am watching Heroes of Cosplay as I read your post. So what are you wearing the costume for?

Well, Dublin Comic Con is the 9/10 August, so I'm planning on having it done for that, but I also have an opportunity to get a photoshoot done of it on the 7th if I can finish in time. I should be able to if I knuckle down.
Also- love HoC! The 2nd season is so much better than the first.

Ha! Yes, ok, I suck at making deadlines. But I finally have a finished product to post. Finished my boots last night: Ended up spending way more time on them than I originally anticipated because I had to do a ton of hand stitching that involved sewing by pliers because the leather was tough and there were awkward joints I couldn't get in the machine. Since this actually made my wrists worse, its been pretty slow going, but I think they're finally done and I'm actually really happy with how they came out. Now I just have to finish the rest...

So cute!!
I hope your wrists feel better. I hate sewing projects like that.

Hm, realised I never updated this. Nor did I update it on my blog. I should probably do that. Anyway, this is how it turned out. Need to adjust a few things, and the paint I used on my arm didn't work as I wanted it to, but overall was happy with it.

Those pants are sooooo comfy. I patterned them off my yoga pants, but they're made with warm sweatshirt-type material. Possibly most comfortable costume I've ever made.

That's smart. I learned that early on - make sure the costume is dang comfortable. One day of limping around teaches you a great life lesson about cosplay shoes.

I just wish more designs were practical. So many of them its "uncomfortable or bust."

That too. I'm pretty ok with showing off my ample assets, but the tummy baring is what's making me cringe these days. All the costumes seem to involve a line of skin around your midriff or a crop top.

Well, of course. Female characters couldn't possibly do stuff while not wearing skin tight totally revealing clothes.
