I has it.
After a furiously productive month in July, my will to craft has petered down and I'm struggling to get things finished. Anyone else get this and have suggestions on how to motivate yourself to get things done when you're not "in the zone"?

ALL. THE. TIME.
Really, it's burn out. The best thing you can do is to not push yourself to finish these things. That will just make the situation worse. Been there, done that. I ended up not "being able to" cross-stitch for over 6 months.
The best thing might be to try something new. A different craft. A new game. Something to get your mind off what you need to do. You just need to recharge and make sure it doesn't become a permanent problem.

For me what helps is to start a new project (probably why I have 5 boxes of WIP's). Starting something new, especially when it involves designing, helps me. Sometimes I'll just design a quilt pattern but not buy anything for it, and that'll be enough to jump start me

This may be why my house is full of UFOs ya'll... But yeah. I think I need new inspiration. I just have to finish this damn quilt sometime. =/

It really depends on your situation - in mine the desire to pay my bills and rent on time is a great motivator. If it's commissions, you just need to force your way through. If it's just general stock, take some time to do something else, whether or not it's another craft (gundams for me) or some burning desire (Steam, you're a curse), pay attention to that for a day or two, then get back to work. That's what I do at least. Or start a new show while you work.
